Observatory's function
The role of the Observatory
Besides the analysis of levels and trends in care-taking since 1999, the social observation includes a description of the evolution of 115 user profiles (isolated or within a family) and an analysis of the outreach work of the Paris Samusocial. The match between supply and demand for sheltering may also be compared with the social policy and activity of shelter sites. Finally, all available data allows the schematization of care-taking in the long term.

The information, once cleared, is then incorporated into the Observatory database. Two types of tables are then made:
-Cross tables, which correspond to each year. These tables are organized either by user (containing aggregate information on the number and type of lodging – shelters, emergency housing centers with nursing facilities, or hotel – each user will have received) or by date (to observe changes in the number of lodgings allocated each day)
-Longitudinal tables that reflect all of the lodgings for each user, aggregated by calendar year since the first call to the 115.
Analyzing the data:
